How smart companies can lead in ethical revolution? by Robert Chestnut
Ethical Revolution? But with every updating technology and culture there are new loopholes gaping in the existing legal laws, moral expectations and entrenched prejudices. How do I cultivate Integrity? It isn’t enough simply to be good at work while turning a blind eye to all the direct or indirect malpractices.
The data privacy abuses, sexual misconduct, and greedy behaviour at some of the world’s highest profile companies have contributed not only to major financial setbacks but also to an erosion of trust in the institutions on which our communities…
As a lone Product Manager at my work, I’m educating myself on how to PM and am on the lookout for processes which I can absorb into my day, which will grow into defining our culture.
I picked “Working Backwards” because I heard so many things about Amazon’s culture, Amazon’s hiring process, being Amazonian etc. And the diverse products Amazon offers, primarily being an e-commerce company market place, Kindle, AWS, Prime Music & Video, Firestick, Alexa and now space tourism, and to tune my Product Development skills.
How are they able to replicate success in all such diverse fields? Does…
About my Job
The Product managers empower the product teams to solve hard(customer and business) problems in ways that the customers love, yet work for the business. Product teams are cross-functional, generally comprised of a product manager, a product designer, and several engineers.
The product teams consist of people with the skills necessary to come up with effective solutions that are valuable(customers choose to buy and use), viable(solution works within the business constraints), usable(user can figure out how to use) and feasible(engineering team has the skills to implement).
While the product designer is accountable for ensuring the solution is usable…
Book Review — 5/5
I was reminded of this song from my church called “Count your blessings” by Johnson Oatman Jr. Now I’ve to make an update to the list.
I found myself reflecting on things that have felt like lucky opportunities in my own life. This reflection was very humbling.
But it also left me longing to engineer my life to be at the right place at right time with the right attitude.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Both the idea being conveyed and the way it is written are engaging. It could also be that, it…
Can we turn this into an avenue for experiencing new music?
Hmm, sounds like plan, sure, why not?! Let’s get it started!
Her: Did u listen? Hahah
Me: Yo, I liked night shift better. But I did sleep listening to birocratic.
Her: Hahah u did???
Birocratic is more electronic with jazz and Beats.. it’s just fresh. And nothing I have ever heard of before..
I planned to go to spiti this year March.
I visualise myself in spiti by listening to lovely Rita. It has the winter vibes.
But ultimately never went 😂
Me: Maybe in…
Heyyyy! So I have been given the responsibilities of a Product Manager at my current company. I have been preparing myself for this role,
subscribing to blogs and channels,
buying PM related books,
bookmarking all the interesting webpages,
making new connections on LinkedIn,
By the first month in the PM’s shoes, the imposter in me woke up, doubting everything, generally messing up the timelines by revisiting the made decisions. Thats fine because that was expected, some articles did mention this situation, I was ready. But what I was surprised with the most was the importance of writing skill. …
What’s this about?
The quarantine and working from home in the times of COVID-19 got me itching to do something other than daily routine. Normally a long bike ride, a good dinner, a road trip or a casual friends hangout would be a fix.
But these aren’t possible now. So I focused on music, while working, while cooking, while doing dishes. After 2 months of going where the sound lead, I tried to make a playlist of the songs I liked. When I created one I couldn’t make any sense of it, it became something I’d skip over.
The book focuses on the concept of validated learning and the build-measure-learn feedback loop.
In general management, failure to deliver results is caused by failure to plan or failure to execute. Both are frowned upon. But in the modern economy, both are useful tools for testing new ideas.
A startup has a true north, its vision. It employs a strategy that includes a business model, a product road map, and a view of partners, competitors, and customers. The product is the result of the strategy. Products constantly change (engine tuning). Strategy changes occasionally (pivot). Vision rarely changes.
Using Lean Startup…
The book is about a guy, who is watching the time whooshing by during the Russian revolution.
I had picked it from Bill Gates reading list. It was a fun read, filled with clever humour and a new perspective about grim and grey Russia we know from the Hollywood movies.
This is not a review, though I’d recommend one to pick it up immediately if they are in between books. This is a collection of quotes by various characters in the novel, sometimes they are witty, sarcastic, wise among other things.
Arriving late, thought the Count with a sigh. …
“Your sins are forgiven.” or “Get up and walk.”
I had been wondering about this line by Jesus, in Matthew 9:5 for some time.
So, the context being; Matthew 9 :1–7(NIV), Jesus, being the son of man he is, moved by the faith of the people, says,
“Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.”
when a paralysed man is brought to him to be cured of his paralysis. At this the onlooking Pharisees claim…
